			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>To save gas time and money, not to mention the spiritual and physical benefits,  I began starting my morning googling terms like ‘free online yoga videos’ here ae a few of my findings so far. I liked his use of breath of fire which is frequently used in Kundalini Yoga. I first got started in Los Angeles taking classes from <a href="http://www.myprimetime.com/play/self/content/yogi1213/index.shtml" target="blank">Gurmukh</a> at <a href="http://www.goldenbridgeyoga.com/" target="blank">Golden Bridge Yoga</a>. Thanks for the recommendation Buna, it has been life changing. She is very spiritual and also has a great collection of weekly video messages and archives.</p>

My current favorite cheese, which went up in price recently, much to my dismay is the Italian Truffle Cheese available at Trader Joe&#8217;s.  I know egg shells are good, but can I put cheese in my compost?</p>
<p><span id="more-186"></span> The answer from some sources claim that it is not a good idea …  I might will the lions tigers and raccoons if I do. It also may introduce chemicals to my compost so I will loose the authentic organic-ness of my compost. According to <a href="http://www.ecosalon.com/30_unexpected_and_unusual_things_you_can_still_put_in_the_compost/" target="blank">30 Unexpected and Unusual Things You Can Still Put in the Compost</a>, expired dairy and moldy cheese – but hold the meat. They also approve the waxy brie cheese box.. So does anybody know for sure? My compost bin is a roller that closes with a latch so animals are not an issue there.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>I have always loved blueberries since we picked them in the wild in Canada when I was young and made delicious blueberry pancakes for breakfast. There was nothing like it. I got my first blueberry bush and am looking into soil requirements so it is sure to bear fruit. With three fruitless fruit trees in the ground outside I am now studying my soil and figuring out what I might be missing. There is nothing worse than overlooking details and killing a plant that you love or preventing it from flowering / growing.</p>

<p>I will be using a huge blue pot with drainage. I mixed some nice black soil from my worm bin (about ¼ of the large planter) with Sphagnum Peat Moss (mulch will do as well). I also got some organic Soil Acidifier and am added 1 tbsp. per 4” of pot diameter which is in my case around 20 tablespoons full. I will keep you informed and let you know when I reap the fruits of my labor and get some eatable berries from my planter.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>The following were my thoughts while watching “Stupidity”, directed by <a href="http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0626168/" target="blank">Albert Nerenberg</a> in 2003. The documentary called for a need for future study so I wrote down some of the psycho educational points that the film addresses.  This movie addresses a very complex question about human nature. How can we define Stupidity?<br />
Silliness, forgetfulness, depression, lack of experience, stress, despondency, jealousy, anger, antics and philosophical abnormalities can all create the perfect storm for perceived stupidity. Criminals and untreated people with mental disorders, the elderly can put themselves and others in danger which in my opinion is one of the main factors of stupidity. The scientific concept of the word idiot was first developed in France with the creation of an IQ test. But the word stupidity is a noun of Latin origin.</p>
<p><span id="more-151"></span><br />
According to Merriam-Webster, the words &#8220;stupid&#8221; and &#8220;stupidity&#8221; enter the English language in 1541. Since then, stupidity has taken place along with &#8220;fool,&#8221; &#8220;idiot,&#8221; &#8220;dumb,&#8221; &#8220;moron,&#8221; and related concepts as a pejorative appellation for human misdeeds, whether purposeful or accidental, due to absence of mental capacity.<br />
The modern English word &#8220;stupid&#8221; has a broad range of application, from being slow of mind (indicating a lack of intelligence, care or reason), dullness of feeling or sensation (torpidity, senseless, insensitivity), or lacking interest or point (vexing, exasperating). It can either infer a congenital lack of capacity for reasoning, or a temporary state of daze or slow-mindedness.<br />
Like children people without the financial means for further education cannot be considered stupid, this is considered discriminatory and ignorant. There is the exception to this rule as long s the student does not have to work to support other family members. This causes frustration, resentment and is a large factor of why youth turn to crime to make money to help support their families while missing out on much needed education that will contribute to their future success. Moving from survival mode to a place where youth can thrive and succeed is a major uphill battle filled with disappointments and disillusionments; this is exacerbated by the terrible economy. As some college student are twiddling their thumbs and constantly editing their resumes and applying for work, to no avail.  Children depending on teachers and family factors like financial resources and the amount of positive reinforcement given (examples set) may be the biggest factors in avoiding modern ‘stupidity’ in other words ‘nature and nurture’. Countess individuals have pulled themselves up by their own boot straps so to speak, and excelled after being raised in the most difficult of circumstances.<br />
People who do not work well with other people or who are unwilling or unable to follow rules and directions could be defined as rebellious and or mentally ill. There are countless possibilities, distractions at home, they may be geniuses immersed in their own life path and philosophically disinterested in following the orders of others or defining themselves by their careers. By the workforce they are deemed ‘stupid’ and eventually fired after being judged as too stupid or un-predictable for their current position.</p>
<p>Ideally a person need to have a job he/she can support and get behind and feel like it is work worth doing, otherwise thy will constantly play a role and thus be dissatisfied with their life. The role is usually played out of necessity to support ones family and the less education in some cases, the more degrading the possible orders and tasks may be.</p>

<p>In working situations or parenting /caretaking situations where there are cases of the “stupid person” being insulted, mentally abused, or asked in a deeming way to follow impossible directions, and even ganged up on makes the U.S. workplace a mess of stress, mistrust and conflict which certainly hurts productivity and exacerbates the “climate of fear” all over as stressed out managers and insecure employees desperately aim to become indispensable or at this point realistically even to stay in business.<br />
The stupidity factor becomes more subjective as conflict arises and funds run out. People with good and bad intentions cannot think while acting out of anger and stupidity. Blame and conflict may divide the employees and create insecurity which decreases productivity and leads to a negative work environment. This perfect storm creates a challenge for all of us to maintain freedom and happiness in the working environment of 2009.</p>

<p>According to the most popular Wiki in the world “stupidity denotes incapacity or unwillingness to properly consider relevant information. The unwillingness involves freedom of will. The incapacity takes the blame off of the person being or feeling stupid.”<br />
In the era of the founding of the United States aspects of stupidity were controlled in the by IQ testing immigrants as they arrived at <a href="http://www.nps.gov/elis/" target="blank">Ellis Island</a>. “Psychologist”, Henry <a href="http://www.indiana.edu/~intell/goddard.shtml" target="blank">Herbert Goddard</a> lobbied for U.S. immigration laws that were restrictive. He concluded that only immigrants from Northern Europe were of normal or above intelligence. Therefore, tight immigration laws were enacted in the 1920s to give preferential access to immigrants coming from Northern Europe. Goddard determined that 87% of Russian immigrants were morons and this lead to vast numbers of immigrants to be deported in 1913 and 1914. Of course, no one at that time seemed to be concerned about the fact that the test being given in English could be a factor in the low scoring<br />

<p>Impression, report and outward appearance in groups of people who share community together and do not therefore define each other as ‘stupid’, is something that you can see driving through any major metropolitan area. I like to think of all people as big kids, however constantly acting like one is a likely way to risk being thought of as stupid by a percentage of your audience. Using controllable stupidity that you think is funny can make you the life of the party or the stupid asshole. Close friends and family get you while others may whisper things like ‘stupid asshole’ after laughing along with everyone else. Just know as long as you had fun and no damage was done this is included behavior in your quest to pursue happiness and freedom.  Different things are funny and ironic to different people and many times people with acting out tendencies are polarized, i.e. you love them or hate them. Know your audience. Intelligence, creating positive energy and positive attention can create jealously in others. In Korean business dealings, constant grinning is considered rude and pushy.<br />
A fact in the <a href="http://www.trailervision.com/trailer.php?id=143" target="blank">movie</a> , which was made in 2003 still rings true in 2009 concerning watching television. “TV will be constantly entertaining, in essence a stupefying machine.” If you have time watch some of the clips from the movie and possibly you will get why it is such a fascinating and largely untouched field of study. For good reason most self proclaimed intellectuals avoid the subject like the plague. They probably also do not watch much T.V.</p>
<p>Although we are all big kids at heart, acting stupid can be a way of acquiring acceptance among groups of those less intelligent or more insecure than oneself. This philosophy is literally embedded in your television stations.  Intelligence and perceived superiority can create jealousy and no one wants to be talked down to. Therefore executives in Television production will order producers to write and edit for a high school audience or maybe even younger of course depending on the program. Therefore this often, as does the constantly breaking un-news worthy news, leaves educated masses feeling angry, confused and mislead by Television programming. Still like a bad hack and slash horror movie some of us just cannot look away.</p>
<p><strong>“Cinema is the most intelligent medium yet.” </strong></p>
<p>Watching diverse documentaries and foreign films helps eliminate ignorance, and fill possible cultural gaps. This year’s winner “Slumdog Millionaire” showed a trend against interest in less meaningful American action movies. Many Hollywood action movies are and have been dumbed down and produced with minimal intelligent dialogue for the intention of easy translation to the global market.  The thinking behind this being that people get frustrated with words they do not understand especially when language barriers are a factor. As programming goes … the inmates are running the asylum and money is the God they answer to. The exact translation of say a more ‘screenplay’ driven movie is too expensive or deemed not worth it financially so writers pull their hair our as directors listen to executives and destroy potentially good films to be released globally as well as accepted by ‘stupid’ Americans.<br />
Television and bad Hollywood movie vocabulary is constantly limited for ‘idiot’ levels of comprehension, on purpose.  The executives do not want to risk the audience feeling snubbed or think the writing is snobbish or superior. The movie also explained to us that while adults think that T.V. is for a younger audience. Young people think it is geared towards older audiences so it is easy to say “they are just not speaking to me personally and cannot think I am that stupid”.  But astoundingly they do. Each commercial is based on a fallacy that anyone who has studied basic logic can actually name on the spot while watching television with a bit of practice.<br />
Example like axe body spray makes hot girls, scantily clad chasing after you is a <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Slippery_slope" target="blank">slippery slope</a>.</p>

I spotted one months ago while driving my husband to work at 6:00 am and I bet he is still in the neighborhood.</p>

<p>I will have to remember to keep the gate closed. Anyone know of an organic solution to keep the critters away from my fruit and veggies? I want to stay organic but I love animal and have bird seed set out and a variety of humming bird flowers in bloom and a feeder.</p>
<p>I recently started including Epsom salts in my fertilizing routine which also involves constant composting and worm bin soil production. You mix ½ cup per gallon of water for potted plants or one teaspoon per foot of height for each plant once every two weeks.</p>
<p>Does any one out there have any advice on how to discourage my fruit tree eating deer and other critters … organically?</p>
<p>I was also concerned about yellow leaves and I found this <a href="http://digitalseed.com/common/common.mv?showthread+1086463766+42" target="blank">very informative discussion</a> on the soil and watering requirements for lemon trees.</p>

The authors of <a href="http://www.cultureofpermaculture.org/blog/?page_id=15">this book</a> (see <a href="http://www.cultureofpermaculture.org">www.cultureofpermaculture.org</a> ) have had the foresight for the need to spread this fundamental knowledge and truth about permaculture and its widespread use and benefits. They live by these principles and are truly dedicated to spreading inspiration and hope. They affect everyone they meet with their magnetic and grounded views, pulling from a wide variety of cultures and traditions. They are resourceful and the best candidates to inform the world of simple ways they can get involved in positive cultural changes and solutions affecting human beings and how they live on a worldwide level.<br />
The ‘Food Safety Modernization Act of 2009’ is just plain wrong and strips people of major resources that are fundamental to healthy communities, sustainability and a better world for our children. Organizations and grants supporting the spread of the necessity for practicing permaculture are 100% required for Earth’s future.<br />
This information is needed to promote and preserve one of the oldest and first professions and passions of human beings worldwide. The right to grow food and distribute food locally to sustain and build environmentally conscious and thriving communities.<br />
The techniques they are sharing can genuinely teach cultures trades that aid in self sustainability and the project can easily become an outlet for bridging cultural gaps. Where health care is not readily available the information shared in the Culture of Permaculture project can help.<br />
The problem of fossil fuel and pesticide use must not be encouraged by the government. It is a fundamental human right to plant and grow seed bearing plant and herbs, to sow and to reap the benefits of the Earth where we live. Industrializing farms is a bad idea. Being an organic farmer myself it is in your blood and a passion that heals one’s soul. Hand wringing worth indeed and we all should be writing letters and spreading the need for immediate concern and communication.<br />
As a response to the clip on <a href="http://permaculture.org.au/2009/03/19/will-obama-allow-organic-farming-and-farmers-markets-to-effectively-get-banned/">this page</a> titled ‘What all the Fuss is About’, I was truly shocked.<br />
$500,000 in penalties is criminal, and to some of the people most connected to the Earth and its amazing potential for creation. An average farmer just does not have this in his savings account. There are no bailouts for starving farmers we must be their voice for them and pull together at a community level. Plus locally grown veggies taste amazing and this would eliminate many great culinary experiences that bring together family, friends and neighbors together nightly at the dinner table. It makes me think of old science fiction movies such as ‘Soylent Green’ where an apple is a major, rare delicacy.<br />
During the current health care crisis we also cannot deny the benefits of permaculture as they provide herbal remedies and cures, even scientific research tools which can and should become healing knowledge to be shared and traded between cultures.<br />
Juliana and Louis Fox live by these principles and are truly dedicated to spreading knowledge, inspiration and hope. The Mexican people are also struggling with increasing addiction in their own communities and are being killed in the cross fire of the war between Mexican drug cartels.</p>

<p>As Mexico press is censored many U.S. photo journalists have joined forces to capture this tragedy from the front lines. It remains to be seen as far as which cartels will win and when  or what will be done about their military grade weapons like AK-47s (<a href="http://www.nydailynews.com/latino/2009/01/27/2009-01-27_cartels_in_mexicos_drug_war_get_guns_fro-2.html" target="blank">from the U.S</a>) that they can afford to buy in mass and are purchasing and using against each other. They also allegedly have video cameras and have posted <a href="http://www.boingboing.net/2007/02/15/mexican-drug-cartels.html" target="blank">propaganda</a> against each other on YouTube.</p>
<p>Juarez the town near the beautiful Mata Ortiz potters community so far this year had an astounding 230 drug slayings since January 1st 2009. That is almost 30 people a day and Juarez is a small town, just across the border.</p>
<p>On a personal note, I am a former webmaster and importer for mataortizpottery.net and used to visit my mother in law who built an adobe house there regularly. I am deeply saddened that Juarez has declined into a war zone so quickly.</p>
<p>The people of Mexico are hard working and resourceful people who are the backbone of communities all over the U.S. Drug money has become an incentive for the corruption of police forces in Mexico as well as a way out of poverty for many Mexican people.<br />
It seems also years of people deporting to Mexico has aided the gang formation and organization behind the development of the cartels. Again and again it seems incentive and money is the root of all evil and both the U.S. and Mexico need to take accountability and work together to correct the situation.</p>
<p>Creating legitimate jobs in the U.S. workforce will and can aliviate some of  this terrible border violence. May this situation be attended to with vigilance and get fair media coverage on television as well as the internet in Mexico as well as the U.S.. I hope some Mexicans will read this article and know how many people are praying for peace and an end to the violence and corruption.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Wrath of the Lich King is everything I hoped it would be. The highlight so far was definitely when King Mrgl-Mrgl taught me the Winterfin Murloc tongue. This quest is awesome you get to go underwater, are given a special breathing potion and capture some soul juice or something in a conch shell for the king, which reminded me of the Sea witch in the Little Mermaid. Anyhow it’s like Blizzard read my mind and knew I always wanted to be able to speak Murloc. They already do have me killing their Murloc enemies across the lake. It could be the shortage of Clam Meat regardless I think this will be great for networking.<br />
