Really old for a review but Boomkat consisting of Taryn Manning and Kellin are amazing and largely overlooked. We were glad to see Taryn in 8th mile and Hustle and Flow, I also recommend Wierdsville for a laugh the movie is quite frenetic.
That lead to revisiting tunes from her that I loved when they first came out.
Her voice is melodic, yet raspy but expresses so much of her devil may care, free spirited soul.
The Song B4It’s 2L8 really is a great hip hop, down tempo positive groove. It starts with
A signature lyric of her’s
– “I won’t break I might bend, but I won’t break.”

Artistical inspiring constantly pushing the envelope. I first feel in love with the "Everybody" video in 2003. It is a rush just to watch it.

 With the release of White Chalk PJ Harvey has truly found a new voice. Moody and haunting yet not as performance art based as her older work. I do love that as well!
She has a completely brilliant vocal and performance on this Album. I feel White Chalk transcends into a more spiritual and less carnal creative plain for Miss Harvey and in my opinion it is best to listen to when alone. Still requires loudness in volume.
If you buy this album ‘Wait’ the bonus track is the coolest song I have heard so far in 2008.

Saucy, random and roller derby tough and you will love her or hate her. Some people just do not do well with her level of intensity. I love her. Since this post MTV 2 has agreed with me and you can see her all over.

 SIA - 'Best and most honest female lyricist I've heard. I was glad to se the HBO series '6 Feet Under" take advantage of the intensity in 'Breath me' on her album 'Color the Small One' . I first discovered it in her  video at Rest Fest '04 in Los Angeles. Apparently she got in a very bad car accident and was blessed with international stardom from the amazing, creative and original work she wrote ... while recovering.
